Historical Significance
Jhunjhunu’s history dates back to the rule of the Chauhan dynasty in the Vikram era 1045. The district was named in memory of a Jat chieftain, “Jhunjha” or “Raja Jujhar Singh Nehra.” The region is part of the Shekhawati area, known for its grand havelis adorned with intricate frescoes.
